Proximo Alternative: Static IP Pair On and Off Heroku
Proximo is a Heroku add-on that routes outbound traffic through a static IP, with plans from $5/mo for 2,000 requests to $1,250/mo unlimited. Its docs describe one assigned IP, an HTTP proxy on port 80, and a wrapper that does not work with Node.js, PHP, or JVM apps. Fixedmark is a planned alternative with a dedicated IP pair from $29/mo on any platform; it is in early access.

One IP or a pair
Proximo's Dev Center page refers to your assigned IP, in the singular. One address keeps the allowlist short, but it also means one path. Fixedmark plans a pair on every plan, so partners allowlist both addresses once and traffic keeps flowing if one proxy node is out of service.
Language support
Proximo's wrapper intercepts outbound TCP connections for Ruby, Python, and Go apps. Its docs say it does not work with Node.js, PHP, or JVM languages, which must use the HTTP or SOCKS proxy directly. Fixedmark's planned path is the same for every language: a standard proxy URL for HTTP clients, SOCKS5 for drivers that support it, and bm tunnel for the rest.
Leaving Heroku
Proximo is sold and billed as a Heroku add-on, and we found no direct sign-up. If you plan to move to Railway, Render, Fly.io, or Vercel, a provider you subscribe to directly keeps the same IPs through the move. See the Heroku migration guide for the parallel allowlist method.
When to stay with Proximo
Proximo still makes sense if:
- You need a static IP in production today. Fixedmark is in early access.
- You are staying on Heroku and want the IP on your Heroku bill.
- Your partners already allowlist your Proximo IP and re-allowlisting is slow.
- Your traffic is light. Proximo's $5 Development plan costs less than Fixedmark's planned $9 Starter.
When Fixedmark fits better
Fixedmark is planned for teams that need:
- Two IPs for failover instead of one.
- A Node.js, PHP, or Java app that needs database traffic on the static IP.
- The same IPs on Heroku now and on another platform later.
- More requests per dollar: 500,000 requests for a planned $29, against $75 on Proximo Professional.
- A dedicated pair in Mumbai or Singapore without running in a Heroku Private Space.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Proximo cost?
Per its Heroku listing, Proximo runs from $5/mo (2,000 requests, 500 MB) through $25, $75, $150, $250, and $500 tiers to $1,250/mo for unlimited requests. Heroku bills it by the hour up to those caps.
Does Proximo give you a dedicated IP?
Its Heroku listing marks every plan with Dedicated IP, and its docs describe a single assigned IP. Fixedmark plans a dedicated pair of IPs from its $29 Pro plan.
Does Proximo work with Node.js?
Yes, through the HTTP proxy URL or SOCKS directly. Its bin/proximo wrapper does not support Node.js, PHP, or JVM apps, per the Dev Center docs.
Can I switch from Proximo without downtime?
Yes, with an overlap. Add your new IPs to every partner allowlist, switch the proxy URL, confirm traffic, then remove the Proximo IP and the add-on.
Make it fixed.
Fixedmark is in early access. Join the list to get dedicated static IPs when your region opens.
